Although it is true that thermally modified wood decking moves much less than exotic hardwoods, minor movement in the boards is possible. Unlike most all-metal hidden deck fasteners, which can react with wood causing staining, the ThermoClip™ deck fastener firmly holds decking to joists with up to 3X more hold-down strength. Designed for thermally modified wood decking, the color of the plastic resin also provides camouflage and conceals the fasteners between the board gaps for a more sleek, fastener-free surface.

ThermoClip™ hidden deck fastener legs automatically set consistant board gaps to 1/4" spacing. A 90 degree stainless steel screw through the fastener holds the decking tight to the joist, allowing the thermally modified wood the freedom it needs without breakage.
Before installation ensure all deck joists are spaced evenly and level so that everything planes through appropriately. Consult your local building code for appropriate joist spacing. DeckWise® recommends 16” spacing on-center for all thermally modified wood decking products.

* If using 1-1/2" (38,1mm) or thicker material, you may need to upgrade to a longer screw option than what is typically packaged with the fastening kit.
** For decking 8" (20,32cm) or wider, the (A) dimension should be at least 1-1/2" (38,1mm). Using a wide plank such as this for surface decking will most likely cause cupping issues regardless of how the material is fastened if thicker material is not used.
*** This formula will create a symmetrical profile that allows you to flip and/or rotate the decking to be able to put the best side up.
